It was early March 2020 and we were two-days from taking a Mission Team to the DR and you know the rest of the story. Our trip was cancelled as our pending return back to the USA was in doubt. Our work was only just beginning at that point. Over the next year and half we repositioned our programs to meet the immediate and critical needs of the Dominican people….food and medicine.
With many of our programs put on temporary hold due to the pandemic FPI quickly shifted gears. We purchased large quantities of food and medicine and with our local leaders developed procedures to evaluate the needs of our churches and their communities. The photos below speak for themselves. Pastors worked with our leaders to vet all needing assistance. They then received and distributed supplies to those in need. It worked, assisting more than 3,000 families.
